New Life is a church for people who are seeking honest answers to honest spiritual questions. It is our desire to be a "safe haven" for spiritual seekers. Our fellowship is designed to help the seeker on his or her journey to find solid, satisfying answers to the most basic questions of life.

You probably consider yourself an open minded thinking person You might even call yourself a "spiritual" person but you definitely don't think of yourself as "religious." You prefer to take spirituality into your own hands, skeptical of that whole "institutional religion" thing [a.k.a. church]. Besides, those religious people wouldn't understand your perspective on God anyway.

Maybe you're curious; maybe you're bored; or maybe you're looking for another reason to write off those out-of-touch Christians. One thing's pretty clear -- you've got some serious objections to the Christian faith. And -- just so you know -- that's totally ok with us. In fact, a number of the people that make up New Life at one point had many of the same objections you probably have.

It's our hope that this ministry will engage you -- to clear up some of the misconceptions that many honest, intelligent people have about Christianity. You consider yourself a tolerant person, right? Then why not take a few moments to honestly think through those objections and some challenging responses to them. We think you'll be surprised with what you discover here.

Steps of a Seeker

All of us live by "faith." In other words, hundreds of times each day, we take some action purely on the basis of evidence. The "proof" comes only after we have acted. For example, we drink a glass of water by "faith." We have evidence, only, that it has been purified and will not harm us. We accept the evidence and take action -- we drink the water. Then, and only then, do we have "proof" that the glass of water was what the evidence suggested it was.

God only asks that you use the same reasonable approach with Him. As you begin your journey, let these principles guide you:

An honest, searching heart is required

Saying you are looking for God and being open to God may not be the same thing. If you are willing to welcome God into your life, if and when you discover Him, you are in for a great adventure.

Open up to the possibilities

If you have already decided that God does not exist, or that He cannot be known, you will explain away all attempts He may make to get your attention. We're not asking you to believe right now. We just ask that you don't refuse to believe before you even get started.

Carefully consider the evidence

This is very reasonable. You practice the same principle all the time. Look at the evidence we present at New Life. You may be surprised. Many people have been. We don't want you to make any decision without having a satisfied mind.

Take the action the evidence suggests

This also is reasonable and very common. You want proof? You'll get it from God -- if He is there -- the same way you get proof in other areas of life...by acting on the evidence.

Truth will prove itself

You discovered proof that the chair you're sitting in will support your weight when you sat down. You looked at the chair, assessed the evidence (strong, sturdy, sat in it before, etc.), and then you acted -- only on evidence. Proof followed.

Is it honest to deny the existence of God and His work in the world, when you have never carefully, honestly and with an open heart, examined the evidence and tested it in your own life?

Common Issues and Questions

We've made a list of those issues that most spiritual seekers usually have in common. Explore the following topics and let us know which is your specific complaint with the Christian faith. Your feedback will be appreciated. It will help make New Life a better place as a welcoming safe environment to ask the tough questions of life.

"What's my purpose in life?"

"How can I find peace?"

"What about my past mistakes?"

"Can I really change my life? "
